Blue Vervain (dried)

Blue Vervain (Verbena Hastata) 

The bright purple-blue flower spikes of Vervain are packed with nectar. They act as a magnet for native bees, butterflies, and moths all summer long.

We harvest the arial parts of the plant, dry them and cut and sift the flower, stem and leaf.

Blue Vervain is known to be a calming, relaxing nerve tonic. A great nighttime tea with slight sedative properties and can be beneficial for colds and heavy mucus.  It does run pretty bitter, so adding in milky oats, liquorice root and/or honey is great.
